Heatwave in Egypt pushes temperatures to 50 degrees Celsius

A heatwave hit Egypt this week and pushed temperatures nationwide closer to 50 degrees Celsius. Southern Upper Egypt city of Aswan recorded a staggering temperature of 49.6 degrees Celsius in the shade on Thursday 06 June and Friday 07 June marking one of the highest temperatures ever recorded in the region, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).
