Ukrainian unit performs military training in Donetsk region
— (Ukraine), 07/03/2025.- Soldiers of the Alcatraz Battalion, made up of former Ukrainian convicts, participate in tactical infantry training at an undisclosed location in Donetsk Oblast, Donetsk region, Ukraine, 07 March 2025. The Alcatraz Battalion was created in June 2024 after Ukrainian President Zelensky signed a law allowing for the commutation of sentences of certain categories of prisoners in exchange for signing a contract with the army and fighting in the infantry.
